At long last, the twelfth season
Vashon Opera is thrilled to finally present Pietro Mascagni’s gorgeous Cavalleria Rusticana after having to postpone this event more than once over the past eighteen months. As a prelude to Cavalleria Rusticana’s dramatic tale, you’ll be treated to a presentation of famous operatic selections encompassing the best of hundreds of years of opera.
In May 2022 comes Franz Lehár’s effervescent and comedic operetta, The Merry Widow. In an atmosphere of refined giddiness, Vashon Opera will present the story of Hanna Glawari, a fabulously wealthy widow, and the attempts of an ambassador to find her a new husband to keep her fortune in his country. Come be enthralled and amused through mazurkas and can-can dancing as the Merry Widow waltzes her way to love.
