Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Vashon Opera didn't present an opera in September 2020 and May 2021, the normal cadence of productions. The September 2019 production of La Traviata was the last production before the pandemic caused the company to put the 2019-2020 season on hold.
After this long intermission, in November 2021 the company resumes with Pietro Mascagni's Cavalleria Rusticana which was originally scheduled for May 2020 as the second opera of the 2019-2020 season.
