The 2019-2020 Season

Vashon Opera's Eleventh Season

This year, we go to 11.

In September, Vashon Opera presents Giuseppe Verdi’s melodious and effervescent La Traviata. The tragic story of the beautiful and enchanting Violetta unfolds amidst glorious melodies, sublime choruses and plenty of champagne. A Vashon Opera first, La Traviata marks the company’s premiere presentation of a Verdi opera.

In May, comes Pietro Mascagni’s gorgeous Cavalleria Rusticana in a unique performance event. Known for its exquisitely beautiful orchestral intermezzo, Mascagni’s symphonic mastery will shine as Vashon Opera’s acclaimed orchestra performs at stage level amidst the story’s characters and chorus. As a prelude to Cavalleria Rusticana’s dramatic tale, you’ll be serenaded by a sequence of pastoral rhapsodies — masterworks for solo voices and orchestra.

Don't miss what promises to be another fantastic season of opera presented in Vashon Opera's signature style - professional opera in an intimate setting with beautiful music, a top notch orchestra and glorious voices.
