The 2017-2018 Season

Vashon Opera's Ninth Season

From Madness to Magic with Melodies in Between

Vashon Opera’s ninth season opens in September with a bel canto masterpiece, Gaetano Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor. The tale of star-crossed lovers caught in a family feud and the staggering price Lucia pays for renouncing her true love is one of opera’s great tragedies and an enduring audience favorite.

In March, Critically acclaimed tenor Limmie Pulliam, who sang Canio in Vashon Opera’s production of I Pagliacci, returns to Vashon in a matinee program of arias, duets, trios and songs. Sharing the stage with pianist Spencer Myer, Limmie brings his powerful, dramatic and sensitive voice back to Vashon for a one showing only concert!

In May, Mozart’s masterwork The Magic Flute comes to the stage with its happy-go-lucky mix of zany comedy, glorious music, and adventure in fantasy land. There are animals, spirit guides, a prince and princess and one evil queen. What’s not to like?
